V Encontro Memória para Todos - História Oral: Métodos, Desafios e Tecnologia

Apresentação
A história oral e os estudos da memória transformaram profundamente a prática historiográfica, conferindo uma dimensão pessoal às narrativas históricas, contribuindo para a reformulação temática e metodológica da disciplina e amplificando vozes que, de outra forma, permaneceriam silenciadas. A memória assume, neste contexto, uma função agregadora e identitária das comunidades e dos indivíduos, e a história oral, ao convocar histórias de vida e incentivar a participação individual ou coletiva, permite às comunidades documentar e interpretar a sua própria história, garantindo o reconhecimento de perspetivas diversas.Tornando a História mais inclusiva e participativa, o potencial transformador da história oral reside na sua natureza colaborativa, ao promover uma relação mais próxima entre investigadores e pessoas e comunidades suscitando um processo de cocriação das fontes históricas. Esta relação colaborativa entre a academia e a sociedade, particularmente em contexto de ciência cidadã, desempenha um papel crucial na democratização do acesso ao conhecimento e às ferramentas de investigação histórica. Mais recentemente, as tecnologias digitais têm ampliado significativamente o potencial de valorização e disseminação da informação, proporcionando a organização e integração de conhecimento relativo aos territórios, às comunidades e aos patrimónios associados, influenciando especificamente a recolha, identificação, tratamento, armazenamento e disponibilização dos conteúdos associados à história oral, promovendo a sua difusão numa escala verdadeiramente global.
Enquanto campo em constante evolução, a história oral deve procurar uma reflexão crítica permanente, ajustando continuamente as suas metodologias aos diferentes contextos sociais, históricos e geográficos, bem como às necessidades e experiências das comunidades que procura representar.
O V Encontro Memória para Todos. História Oral: Métodos, Desafios e Tecnologia tem como objetivo fomentar discussões interdisciplinares sobre as dimensões teóricas, metodológicas, éticas e tecnológicas da história oral e dos estudos da memória. É organizado por História, Territórios e Comunidades, pólo na NOVA FCSH do Centro de Ecologia Funcional - Ciência para as Pessoas e o Planeta – da Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade de Coimbra.
Em colaboração com o Ciência Viva, a edição deste ano contará com um painel especial dedicado às Mulheres e Raparigas na Ciência, destacando as contribuições das mulheres nos vários campos da Ciência e o papel da história oral na documentação e análise de experiências de género.

5th Memory for All Conference - Oral History: Methodologies, Concepts, and Tecnology
By making history more inclusive and participatory, the transformative potential of oral history lies in its collaborative nature, by promoting a closer relationships between researchers and communities, encouraging a co-creation process in the development of historical sources. This collaborative relationship between academia and society, particularly in the context of citizen science, plays a crucial role in democratizing access to knowledge and historical research tools.
More recently, digital technologies have significantly expanded the potential for valuing and disseminating information, facilitating the organization and integration of knowledge related to territories, communities, and associated heritage, specifically influencing the collection, identification, processing, storage, and availability of oral history content, promoting its dissemination on a truly global scale.
As a constantly evolving field, oral history must continuously engage in critical reflection, adjusting its methodologies to different social, historical, and geographical contexts, as well as to the needs and experiences of the communities it seeks to represent.
The 5th Memory for All Conference. Oral History: Methods, Challenges, and Technology aims to foster interdisciplinary discussions on the theoretical, methodological, ethical, and technological dimensions of oral history and memory studies. It is organized by History, Territories, and Communities, a research hub at NOVA FCSH of the Center for Functional Ecology - Science for People and the Planet – of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra.
In collaboration with Ciência Viva, this year’s edition will feature a special panel dedicated to Women and Girls in Science, highlighting the contributions of women across various scientific fields and the role of oral history in documenting and analyzing gender experiences.
